CRANBERRY: From Asia and Europe, these small bluish or reddish fruits have been used since ancient times in the treatment of various diseases, from scurvy to influenza or rheumatism. Today, numerous studies place blueberries as fruits with a wealth of health benefits. One of the most recent, conducted by the American Society of Medicine, reveals that drinking three glasses of blueberry juice a day reduces the chances of suffering heart disease by 40%. The research makes clear that this is due to the fact that this consumption increases considerably the good cholesterol indexes, which in turn promotes an increase (up to 121%) in antioxidants - substances that delay aging. According to Joe Vinson, the author of the study, the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, this research "gives consumers another reason to continue to drink cranberry juice at meals and even take it as an alternative to soft drinks"
